 End of Summer 2026 NewsletterDear Music Families and Staff, It’s hard to believe the first day of school is almost here! With classes beginning this Wednesday, the Nutley Music Boosters are looking forward to the start of another exciting school year filled with music, performances, events, and opportunities to support our students. We would like to extend our appreciation to everyone who attended the Parent Meet and Greet on August 20. It was a pleasure to connect with many families as we prepare for the upcoming year. Our Marching Band season is already underway, and soon our classrooms and rehearsal spaces will again be filled with students making music. As the year progresses, we will continue sharing updates and opportunities. Please join our BAND App group to stay informed about announcements, events, volunteer opportunities, fundraisers, and other important information throughout the year. We also invite all music families to consider becoming a paid member for the 2026–2027 school year. Your membership directly supports our programs and qualifies your student for 100% fundraising credit. Membership details are provided below. Additionally, please see information below regarding our ongoing Football Mania and Fall Mums Student Fundraisers. Along with our year-round options, these initiatives offer valuable opportunities for students to earn fundraising credits that can be applied toward music-related expenses. There are also several upcoming volunteer opportunities for parents and families, including assisting at our tables during the Rotary Car Show and Nutley Fall Fest, along with our Holiday Vendor Fair and Tricky Tray committees. The first Can Shake fundraiser of the year is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, providing students with another opportunity to raise funds for their individual music expenses. Students and Chaperones can sign up below to participate. We look forward to seeing everyone at the General Membership Meeting on Monday, September 14. Additional details to follow next week. Sal Scarpelli 2026-27 Membership InformationMembership is $25 per family and supports Nutley’s music students and programs. Membership qualifies students for 100% Student Fundraising Credit, supplemental activities, and senior scholarship eligibility. It also allows parents and guardians to be considered for chaperone opportunities. If you have a student in Marching Band, you DO NOT need to pay your membership, as this was covered in the overall marching band fees. September 13 Can Shake Sign UpStudents can earn Student Fundraising Credits by volunteering at one of our upcoming Can Shakes! Our next Can Shake will take place on Sunday, September 13 at ShopRite, with additional opportunities available during the Rotary Car Show. Students and Parent Chaperones may select an available time slot using the link below. For this sign-up, we will be using Cheddar Up instead of the BAND App to see if it provides a smoother and easier sign-up experience. We know there were some difficulties with the BAND App sign-up process, so we appreciate your patience as we try a new option. Seasonal Fundraisers Ending Soon! Deadline: September 6 Fundraising Credit: $14 per card sold Game Cards cost $20 each Chairperson: Fabian Castillo Football ManiaWe are excited to bring this fundraiser back for the 2026 season! To play the game, participants simply add up the points scored by their 3 randomly selected teams. Every week of the pro football season, the 15 highest scoring game cards and the 3 lowest scoring game cards all win prizes. Prizes awarded each week range from $25 to $500!
