JUNE 2026 The Table Plaza is now open!![]() Tuesday March 24, 2026 The Table family of staff and volunteers gathered with many of those who helped make The Table Plaza possible, for a ribbon cutting ceremony in the new Table Food Bank location at 12 Cann St.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of The Sprott Foundation, we have secured transformative funding that allows us to take an important and long-anticipated step forward: expanding our Table Ministries into The Table Plaza. This milestone marks a new chapter for our charity and reflects years of commitment, prayer, hard work, and community support. The Table Plaza is more than a physical space. It is a place of welcome, dignity, nourishment, and connection — where people are met with compassion and care, and where our values of service, justice, and community are lived out every day. We are excited to share that the Exchange Thrift Store, Food Bank, Food Rescue, Love Connection and Foundation Offices are now operating at the Plaza, allowing us to serve the community from our new home. The Emporium, Café, and Art Gallery & Hub will soon follow, creating additional spaces for creativity, connection, and community gathering — and helping ensure that every part of The Table Plaza supports and sustains our mission. We are filled with excitement for what lies ahead. These spaces are key to strengthening and sustaining our core ministries for the long term. We are deeply grateful for your continued support. Because of you, we are able to grow in ways that create lasting impact. As we move forward, there will be new and exciting opportunities to serve, to give, and to be part of the work happening at The Table Plaza, as well as supporting our Men's Hostel, Community Kitchen, Soup Kitchen, and Food Bank Garden at our other locations. This next chapter is one of momentum, increased service to the community, and shared purpose. We are honoured to carry it forward with you — our community of partners, volunteers, and donors — who make this work possible every day. Thank you for your continued support and walking alongside us. The best is still to come. God bless each and every one of you.
You are loved! TTSKF partners with THE SPROTT FOUNDATION to create a 5x impact fundraising campaign!![]() ![]() Help us meet the growing need in our community. Thanks to our matching partner, THE SPROTT FOUNDATION, your donation of $1 becomes $5!Food banks across Canada are experiencing record demand, and here in our region, the need continues to grow. More families, seniors, children, and working households are struggling with rising food costs, housing pressures, and financial uncertainty. Each week, more people turn to The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation for support, and the demand shows no signs of slowing. Thanks to the generosity of The Sprott Foundation, every $1 donated to The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation between June 15 and July 31 will be matched with $4, turning your gift into 5X direct community impact. Your support helps provide nutritious food, community meals, affordable essentials, food rescue programs, educational and job training opportunities, and pathways toward greater stability and self-sufficiency. It also helps us expand The Table Plaza—a community hub designed to address both immediate needs and the root causes of food insecurity. The urgency is real. As the number of people seeking assistance continues to rise, so does our responsibility to respond with compassion, dignity, and practical solutions. Donor Spotlight: Mark & Christine Tulloch![]() ![]() How do we put into words the incredible gratitude felt from the sincere care and love of community that Mark and Christine Tulloch have shared in so many ways through the years and continue to do so at the most meaningful moments in profound measure. Table Bowls Cards issued to Guests of Food Bank! The Table Bowls Card is designed to support dignity, choice, and inclusion for guests accessing services at The Table Food Bank. Currently, The Table Plaza is in the process of developing and implementing the Table Bowls Reloadable Card System — a program that will provide guests with a reusable, reloadable card with a value gifted, that can be redeemed throughout the Plaza, including the Emporium, Exchange Thrift Store, Café, and Art Gallery & Hub. This system is being created to offer a more flexible, dignified, and community-centred way for individuals and families to access increased support and services. Until the fully reloadable card system is launched, Food Bank guests receive temporary Table Bowls Cards redeemable at the Exchange Thrift Store. These cards allow guests to select up to 10 free items within a one-month period, helping provide access to clothing, household items, and other essentials in a welcoming, choice-based environment. Many free items from the Exchange Thrift Store are also provided through our Food Bank The long-term vision of the Table Bowls Card program is to create a connected support system that encourages dignity, independence, and participation across all areas of The Table Plaza while strengthening community connection and accessibility. We introduced a game called “How did I get to The Table”, where groups of people are given a scenario outlining an individual’s life circumstances, then they draw “life event” cards… after each card is drawn they must make a choice to remove something from their budget… rent, transportation, food etc., and then discuss what their options are and how they feel about their choices. Lots of food for thought. It was a fun gathering of creative minds, learning about the possibilities of this space and how it can result in positive social change. People were asked to leave behind a little art In a postcard. There were some beautiful messages of encouragement shared. Thank you to our Art Gallery & Hub supporters! We would like to express our deep gratitude to Dr. Mark & Betty Boekelman for their generous donations of art books and easels for our workshop space in our gallery, and for connecting us to an in-kind donation for an art hanging system from Brandy Brown, which the Boekelman's kindly delivered. A big thank you to Trish Manning for her donation of a counter top and sinks for our workshop area! Our workshop space can always use donations of gently used art supplies including: inks, pastels, pencils, paints, brushes, canvases, paper, glue, and art books too! It was our volunteers’ turn to sit down, relax, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. So often they are the ones serving meals, organizing donations, stocking shelves, helping guests, setting up events, and support others behind the scenes — and this evening was all about celebrating them. The room was filled with music, laughter, great food, and wonderful company as everyone enjoyed a lively evening of Music Bingo. A huge thank you goes to Jimmy Brendish from Jimmy Joy’s Music Room for generously providing the sound system and helping create such a fun atmosphere for the night. From singing along to favourite songs, to sharing stories and plenty of laughs around the tables, the night was a reminder of just how special our Table Family truly is. Our volunteers are the heart of so much that happens at The Table Plaza, and we are deeply thankful for the compassion, dedication, and care they bring every single day.
