Association of National Park Rangers (US) and The Coalition to Protect Americas National Parks

America’s national parks are being asked to do more with far less.

Since January 2025, the National Park Service has lost nearly 25% of its permanent workforce. That means fewer rangers to protect natural and historic resources, support visitors, maintain facilities, conduct research, and keep parks running safely.

Now, another “early out” program threatens to push out even more experienced park staff.

This is not just about what visitors may see today — longer lines, delayed maintenance, or reduced services. It is about the long-term damage these staffing losses could do to the future of the National Park System.

Parks need rangers.

Take action today and urge your Members of Congress to stop further National Park Service staffing cuts and restore lost positions.

WE STILL HAVE POSTCARDS AVAILABLE

MAKE YOUR CONCERNS KNOWN TO YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS, OR URGE FAMILY, FRIENDS OR OTHERS TO TAKE ACTION

ANPR is making postcards available that you can send to your elected officials (or anyone else) expressing your concerns about what is happening to the National Park Service and its employees. These postcards are available in "packets" of ten cards, for $15.00. Included is a page of significant information about actions that have been taken against the NPS and it's employees since January 2025 that you can use to emphasize your concerns or to use during conversations with others about your concerns. These notifications will be especially important as the Congress begins to consider the NPS budget for FY2027 in the next month or so.

How to order (include your mailing address in either case):

  • If you want to pay by check (preferred by ANPR), send to ANPR, 12675 N Sunrise Shadow Drive, Marana, AZ 85658.
  • If you want to pay by credit card, send email to Melissa DeVaughn at mdevaughn@anpr.org. She will send you an invoice and you can pay that with your credit card.

Parks Under Siege” Fund

The Association of National Park Rangers (ANPR) has received a $20,000 grant from a life-member donor to: “Take or coordinate actions to defend the National Park Service’s mission and its employees; and specifically, to do whatever is possible to make a difference by the mid-term elections.” Mike Pflaum, president of ANPR said, “This donor is encouraging our members and other donors to contribute toward matching this grant.” ANPR executive director Bill Wade said, “We are establishing an account to accept this grant and all contributions toward matching it, and we will be working with our partner organizations – National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), Coalition to Protect America’s National Parks (CPANP), and the Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) for the services they can provide to help us meet the intent of this grant and to solicit additional donors.” Pflaum said, “We’re asking our members and willing donors from our partner organizations and anyone else who is concerned about what is happening to the National Park Service and its employees to support this initiative by contributing whatever amount they are able to donate.” Go HERE to donate, complete the requested information and scroll down to “Parks Under Siege” to allocate the amount of your donation; or send a check to: ANPR, 12675 N Sunrise Shadow Drive, Marana, AZ 85658 and indicate: “GRANT MATCH.”

Connect with Me
This past Sunday, April 12, our Credit Union staff and Board Chair came together to volunteer at the Annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Race, an event we look forward to supporting each year. From cheering runners on as they crossed the finish line and handing out water to sharing in the excitement and community spirit, it was a rewarding day for everyone involved. We’re especially proud to support such an impactful cause, with the 2026 race raising an incredible $506,230 for the Children's Miracle Network. We’re honored to be part of this tradition!
We had a great time participating in the Spring IDRA Vendor Fair at the Udall Building. It’s always a pleasure connecting face‑to‑face with our members, answering questions, and catching up, while also having the opportunity to share the many benefits of credit union membership with non‑members. Events like these allow us to strengthen relationships, build new connections, and continue spreading the word about how we support our community, both inside and outside the credit union.

Finding a Home That Fits the Way You Live Today

For many people, the idea of moving doesn’t start with a big decision. It builds gradually, in small, everyday moments that begin to feel more prominent over time.

A home that once felt full may grow quieter. Spaces that used to serve a clear purpose may sit unused. Routines shift, priorities change, and what once felt like the right fit can begin to feel slightly out of step with your daily life.

At Interior Federal, we talk with members who are navigating these moments every day. Some are adjusting to life after children have moved out. Others are preparing for a growing family, considering a relocation for work, or simply realizing their current space no longer supports how they live now.

If you’re relocating within the U.S. we offer mortgages in all 50 states. We can help you sell your current home and move into your new one with the help of our seasoned mortgage professionals.

Interior Federal offers a Digital Spend Account, which is our unique version of a checking account. It combines the accessibility of a checking account with the benefits of a high-yield savings account.

We wanted to take a moment to address some of the most common questions we receive about the Digital Spend Account.

Q: What is a “Spend Account” and why do you call it that?

Many people no longer write checks as frequently as they used to due to the rise of digital payment methods. Therefore, the term “checking account” may not accurately represent the function of this account in today’s world. Referring to it as a “spend account” helps better define its purpose. The Digital Spend Account utilizes early warning services to ensure secure transactions.

Typically, you receive your direct deposit into this account, which is where you make payments for your daily expenses, such as your morning coffee, weekly grocery run, or monthly subscriptions. Essentially, it is the account that you use to spend your money.

Q: How will dividends work with the new Digital Spend Account?

The Digital Spend Account allows members to earn a monthly dividend rate on their account balances. This dividend rate is determined by whether or not the account met four monthly requirements, excluding the previous month’s statement activity.
  1. 12 credit/debit transactions per month (minimum)
  2. $1000 direct deposit per month (minimum)
  3. 1 login to digital banking+ per month (minimum)
  4. 2 digital wallet* transactions per month (minimum) (i.e. Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay, or Google Pay).
Let’s look at an example to better understand this process. Based on August balances, let’s say that dividends are paid on September 1st. The qualification data used for this payout would be from July.

To earn higher dividends in August and receive them on September 1st, the member must have met all the requirements during July. Additionally, the Digital Spend Account does not have minimum balance fees.

Q: How do i know if i qualify for the higher dividend rate?

We recommend that you first check your digital banking debit/credit card history to ensure you have made 12 or more transactions. Next, ensure you have set up direct deposit for at least $1000 under the Secure Forms section in online banking. Then, download our mobile app and log into digital banking at least once a month.
