PAMANA Choir Performs for Mayor, Common Council

On June 9, 2026, the PAMANA Choir performed a Filipino song at the Madison Common Council meeting presided by Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway. It was the only group invited to perform for the meeting's agenda item on Make Music Madison.

June 21: Make Filipino Music Madison at Garner Park

Enjoy this free musical marathon from 1 to 9 p.m. at Garner Park (333 S. Rosa Rd.), featuring Filipino talents.


Make Filipino Music Madison is one of the 160+ events happening around the city to commemorate the worldwide celebration of Make Music Day (Fête de la Musique) every June 21.


Since Madison's participation in 2013, Make Music Madison is now the largest event of its kind in North America.


This year is PAMANA's inaugural hosting of Make Filipino Music Madison, which spotlights Filipino talent and music.

Shaddai's performance is scheduled is at 5 p.m. She is the only performer officially listed for Make Music Madison whose genre is opera.

Performers and Musical Acts

PAMANA is proud to offer one the most eclectic and musically diverse lineups for Make Music Madison — ranging from a punk rock band and choral groups, to solo artists that include an indie bluegrass musician who fronts a Madison-favorite band, as well as a church pastor singing contemporary gospel songs.

Ube Band-esal
1 p.m.

Ube Band-esal is a newly formed alt/garage rock crew making their debut at Make Filipino Music Madison. They bring upbeat, playful punk energy and hooky, guitar-driven tunes that'll maybe get the crowd bobbing along.

UPAA-W Choir
2 p.m.

UPAA-W Choir is the official singing group of the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Wisconsin.

Rowell Puedivan
3 p.m.

Rowell is a singer-songwriter and serves as pastor of the Madison Community Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The Philippine Center Strummers
4 p.m.

The Philippine Center Strummers is the official ukulele group of the Philippine Cultural and Civic Center in Wisconsin. The band also includes percussionists and a bass player who add joie de vive to their repertoire.

Shaddai Solidum
5 p.m.

A classically trained singer, Shaddai previously performed as Mimi in the University Opera's production of La Boheme, where she was praised for her "mastery of legato" and as "the best singer on the stage."

PAMANA Choir
5:30 p.m.

Originally formed as the PAMANA Carolers in the early 2010s, the group is now debuting as a full-fledged choir with repertoire including Filipino pop, contemporary, and folk songs.

Pam Barrett
6:30 p.m.

Pam is an award-winning Madison-based songwriter best known for fronting the Motor Primitives, the Sigourney Weavers and, most recently, BingBong. Her throaty vibrato brings emotional immediacy to her melodic — at times portentous, at times rocking — songs.

Bernard Quipot
7:30 p.m.

Also known as Mr. B, Bernard is a Madison-based guitarist who plays covers on classic rock, folk, jazz, standard, country, contemporary Christian, current hits, and jazz fusion music.

Garner Park, located at 333 S. Rosa Rd., Madison, is a 42-acre green space with an open shelter, restrooms, parking lot, and wheelchair-accessible entrance.

What to Expect

  • You are free to set up picnic chairs, blankets and shades (not bigger than a 10'x10' tent) in the park's lawn, while performers and technical staff occupy part of the shelter facing the lawn.
  • Should the event experience inclement weather, you can take cover in any of the shelter's three levels.
  • Filipino food will be available for purchase from invited food trucks and vendors.
  • Please follow general city park rules, including the following:
    • Garner Park allows alcohol in a non-breakable container.
    • Glass, including glass bottles, is not allowed.
    • Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome. All dogs must be licensed and have a daily or annual dog permit.
