Dear Councilperson [Last Name],

I am a resident of Jersey City writing to ask you to support the Franklin Street Protected Bike Lane between Palisade Avenue and Central Avenue.

This project is a smart investment in our neighborhood. It gives families a secure way for their children to bike or walk to school without worrying about fast traffic.

It creates a safe route for residents to reach Pershing Field. Local businesses along the corridor will benefit from more foot traffic and people stopping to shop. And by making it easier to bike instead of drive for short trips, we can reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in the Heights.

I am glad the City took the time to listen to residents after the 2024 demonstration project. The revised design reflects community input, including the addition of concrete curb extensions and safer crosswalks.

This project will make Franklin Street work better for everyone who lives works, and travels through here. I hope you will support it and vote yes.

Sincerely,
