The Hive

Action for Children

Reconstructing an education program after a two-year pause is like building a hive.

Atzin’s tutoring program for children aged 8-12 years is called Tihueliske (We Can!).

The educators and 45+ children are busy in class three afternoons each week and the movements and noise are like a buzzing hive!

Divided into three levels, the children study the basics of letters, numbers, reading and arithmetic.

The backstory is that the pandemic restrictions followed by the occupation of the village by organized crime caused education for children to falter for most families. Now, the hive is being rebuilt, not by one, but by many, each contributing to a stronger foundation for literacy.

With inspiration from nature, together we can help these kids learn more as they

navigate their education and their futures in school and at home.

As always,

and the Atzin team
