Just in. Your calls have worked, for now.
This morning, the Liberals, Bloc and Conservatives all voted to delay C-9 (hate speech) and prioritize other important justice bills first.
The C-9 committee discussion is expected to pick up on February 9th. It's not over, but this is a huge win. MP Lawton says this is a direct result of YOUR phone calls, along with petitions and emails! (Let's finish the 12 Days for Freedom strong and keep phones ringing today.)
The vote today also disproves the argument that Conservatives are delaying other crime bills. Members from all parties just voted to expedite other crime bills.
YOU'VE REGISTERED 39,275 CALLS SO FAR
We are amazed by our incredible network.
Over the last week, we had 2,165 participation sign-ups for the 12 Days for Freedom, and you have registered 39,275 calls! This is very likely the largest grassroots issue-based phone calling campaign in Canadian history.
Thank you for engaging in this important moment for our nation.
