March 2026 Newsletter

Dear Music Families and Staff,

March is here, and it is Music in Our Schools Month, a time to recognize the incredible impact music education has on our students’ academic growth, creativity, discipline, and overall development. Throughout this month, we celebrate not only the achievements of our musicians, but also the dedication of our teachers and the support of our families who make it all possible.

Our winter competition seasons are well underway, and it has been incredible to see our students representing Nutley with pride, talent, and dedication. From honors ensembles to competitive performances, our musicians continue to demonstrate the strength and excellence of our program at every level.

This month also marks the kickoff of our elementary concerts. It is always a special time to see our youngest musicians take the stage and showcase their growth and hard work.

We are excited to kick off our $1,000 Amazon Gift Card Raffle. We encourage everyone to participate and help spread the word as we continue raising funds to support our students and music programs across the district.

We are also launching a new student credit fundraiser with Nothing Bundt Cakes. This is a great opportunity for families to earn student credit while enjoying a sweet treat. Please review the details below for ordering information and important dates.

As our students and directors continue preparing for spring concerts and regional ensemble festivals, our Nutley High School musicians and directors will travel to California at the end of this month. We are looking forward to some warmer weather and sunshine. Speaking of trips, registration for the JHWMS Dorney Park trip is now open. Please see more details below regarding payment deadlines and important information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out directly or join us at our General Membership Meeting on March 9.  We are here to help and to advocate for our teachers, our students, and the continued strength of our music program.

Together, we will continue building on one of Nutley’s greatest success stories.
