District 83 is excited to announce enhancements to its Club Officer Training (COT) program for the 2026–2027 Toastmasters year. In response to valuable feedback gathered over the past two years, this refreshed training approach is designed to provide club officers with stronger instructional support and expanded leadership development opportunities.
A More Robust Training Experience
The enhanced program focuses on equipping officers with practical tools, knowledge, and confidence to lead their clubs effectively. In addition to foundational training, the updated format emphasizes interactive learning and leadership skill-building to help clubs achieve greater success throughout the year. Club Officer Training is also a key component of the Distinguished Club Program (DCP). Clubs become eligible for DCP recognition when officer training requirements are met, and they earn credit toward DCP goals when all officer roles are trained. District 83 will continue to offer incentives to recognize clubs that achieve full officer
training participation.

Flexible Online Training Options
For those unable to attend in person, District 83 will continue to offer virtual Club Officer Training sessions. Each officer will complete two one-hour sessions:
- One session focused on core foundational training
- One session focused on leadership and educational development
The full online training schedule will be announced soon, ensuring flexibility for all participants. To receive DCP credit, club officers must attend both
one-hour sessions.
Preparing Leaders for Success
These enhancements reflect District 83’s ongoing commitment to supporting its leaders and strengthening clubs across the district. Whether attending in person or online, incoming officers will gain valuable insights, practical tools, and resources to help their clubs grow, thrive, and achieve excellence.
