We warmly invite you to the very first Family Retreat at Tào Khê Mindfulness Practice Centre. All are welcome, whether you're attending on your own, with a partner, or with family.
Family retreats have become a cherished tradition at many practice centres in the Plum Village tradition, and we are deeply grateful to have the opportunity and conditions to organize one at Tào Khê MPC.
This retreat will be led by two senior monastic Dharma Teachers, Brother Pháp Lạc and Brother Pháp Khôi.
We invite you to join us on a journey of practice that welcomes the whole family — parents, grandparents, children, teens, couples, and individuals alike. There will be special children’s and teen programs offered during the retreat, while the regular retreat schedule will continue for the rest of the community.
What makes a family retreat so special is the coming together of many generations to practice mindfulness together through activities such as mindful breathing, mindful eating, walking meditation, and sitting meditation — practices that families can continue to bring home and nourish together in daily life.
We also invite you to experience the joy of being together in the beauty of July, when we can gather comfortably outdoors, whether camping or staying in the shared dorms, and enjoy the natural surroundings along the shores of Lake Huron.
Call for Volunteers – Children & Teen Program
We are seeking individuals to support our Children & Teen Program. If you feel inspired to join us in this way, please email us to express your interest. A reduction in retreat fees and/or a scholarship will be offered, depending on individual circumstances. We kindly ask that volunteers are able to be present and available throughout the retreat.
Scholarships: If you require financial assistance, please feel free to reach out by replying to this email. While the retreat fees help sustain the centre and cover operational costs, it is our sincere wish to make the retreats accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances.
