Environmental Education for a Better Earth Canada (EEFABE Canada) is Now a Registered Charity!

Summer has been filled with milestones, meaningful community engagement, and exciting opportunities to deepen our connection with nature.

This month, we are thrilled to share a major organizational achievement, celebrate two successful community events, and invite you to join us for a series of upcoming environmental activities across the Greater Toronto Area.

Despite limited resources, we have made significant progress in our impactful journey towards restoration, all thanks to your generous support.

Monthly Highlights

We are proud to announce that Environmental Education for a Better Earth Canada (EEFABE Canada) is now an officially registered Canadian charity and can therefore issue tax receipts to all eligible donations.

This designation represents an important milestone in our journey to empower communities through environmental education, stewardship, and climate action.

As recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency, EEFABE Canada is now positioned to advance its mission through the following charitable purposes:

• Protecting the environment for the benefit of the public by conserving and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity on a long-term basis.
• Protecting the environment by reducing pollution and supporting initiatives that clean up and remediate polluted air.
• Advancing education by providing learning opportunities for the public on environmental sustainability and climate change.
• Undertaking activities that support and strengthen the achievement of these charitable purposes.

This recognition reflects years of dedication from our volunteers, members, partners, and supporters. We sincerely thank every person who has helped us reach this important milestone.

Together, we are building a healthier, greener, and more resilient future.

World Environment Day 2026 Celebration

To celebrate World Environment Day 2026, EEFABE Canada welcomed community members to Tommy Thompson Park for a guided nature walk exploring biodiversity, urban ecology, and climate resilience.

Participants discovered how this remarkable landscape transformed from industrial fill into one of Toronto's most important ecological habitats, demonstrating nature's incredible capacity for restoration and renewal.

Highlights

• 14 participants engaged in environmental learning and stewardship
• 2.5 km explored through restored wetlands and natural habitats
• Native wildlife and bird species observed
• Meaningful discussions on ecosystem restoration and climate resilience

🚴 Community Biodiversity Park Ride Success

In June and July, EEFABE Canada members and supporters participated in 3 community cycling events from York University Heights to Humber River Park Trail via Black Creek Parkland.

The ride offered participants a unique opportunity to discover local green spaces while promoting sustainable transportation and healthy outdoor recreation.

Along the route, cyclists explored some of Toronto's important ecological corridors, experienced beautiful parkland scenery, and engaged in conversations about environmental stewardship and active mobility.

The event demonstrated how sustainable transportation can simultaneously support community well-being, environmental awareness, and stronger connections with nature.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us on this memorable ride.
