 August 9, Newsletter  Another Exciting Year at Lineweaver!We are excited to begin another great school year and look forward to everything ahead for our students, families, teachers, and staff. Throughout the year, this newsletter will help keep you connected with upcoming events, important dates, school activities, volunteer opportunities, and other ways to be involved in the Lineweaver community. We hope everyone has had a wonderful first week, and we are looking forward to making 2026–2027 a fun, memorable, and successful year for our Lions! Did You Know?The PTO provides teachers with funding at the beginning of the school year to help with classroom supplies. This year, every teacher and support staff member also received a membership to Treasures 4 Teachers, helping them stretch their classroom dollars even further throughout the year. During the entire school year, teachers can also submit grant requests for classroom materials, curriculum needs, and special activities that may not otherwise be funded through TUSD. We also help fund the Roar Drawer for students! Mrs. Georgelos is always open to new prize ideas, so if your student has something they would love to see in the Roar Drawer, send those suggestions our way. Volunteers Needed Looking for a way to get involved at Lineweaver? There are volunteer opportunities for every schedule and level of commitment. Help out at school events and family nights, join a committee, volunteer for a one-time task or shift, or put your own skills and connections to work for our school community. Volunteer needs range from event setup and activity stations to fundraising, teacher appreciation, spirit wear, photography, design, translation, grant research, and more. Even an hour of your time can make a difference, and you do not need to make a long-term commitment to help. See current opportunities and sign up at: Upcoming Events August 12, 6-7pmJoin us for our first PTO meeting of the school year on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 6:00–7:00 p.m. via Zoom. This is a great opportunity to meet the new PTO Board, hear about what is planned for the year, learn about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities, and find out how you can get involved. Agenda and Zoom Link: https://lineweaverpto.org/meetings/  August 20, 5-8pmJoin us Thursday, August 20, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Peter Piper Pizza, 4112 E. 22nd St. Enjoy games, raffles, prizes, and a class attendance pizza party contest. Teachers can receive a free 7-inch, 1-topping pizza and drink with school ID, and students can receive 5 free play points by turning in their reminder sticker. Come eat, play, and celebrate the start of the school year with other Lineweaver families!  Help earn money for Lineweaver Elementary by downloading the Box Tops for Education app and selecting our school. Scan your eligible grocery receipts through the app, and participating purchases will earn funds for Lineweaver at no additional cost to you. Use the QR code or enter referral code XPL24XOQ to get started. Every Box Top adds up and helps the PTO support our students, teachers, and school programs. If you sign up this month using the referral code, we get triple!   Help Us Connect with TucsonThis year, we are making a bigger effort to connect Lineweaver with the incredible Tucson community around us. We are actively looking for local businesses and organizations interested in supporting our school through donations, sponsorships, event support, supplies, prizes, food, or other contributions. If you own a local business, work for one, or know of a business that may be interested in supporting Lineweaver, we would love to hear from you.
