We have big news! Please join us in celebrating the official launch of The Missed Path Sanctuary, a refuge that nurtures the horse and human spirit!
This grand adventure began a few years ago when Marc decided to satisfy a lifelong curiosity about horses. We had no idea that this small step would quickly lead us to our life’s work. He intuitively knew he had found his calling – working with horses and humans in a way to help both thrive. But that was only scratching the surface.
Horses and humans share an ancient connection, yet the stark reality is that in the modern world, life for many horses is not a happy one; too many of these beautiful animals suffer, one way or another, at the hands of the very people they depend on. And, in the hustle and bustle of the digital age, that special bond is largely forgotten.

As the need became undeniable, our path was simple: create The Missed Path Sanctuary — a place where horses could find safety, healing, and trust again. In standing for them, we found something too: a way back to our own true nature, led by the quiet strength of the horses themselves.
Last year we began the process of becoming a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. In September of 2024, we received our charitable designation, and the Missed Path Sanctuary was born. However, just two weeks later, as we were gearing up for a celebratory grand opening, Hurricane Helene hit – devastating Western North Carolina, including parts of the property on which The Missed Path Sanctuary stands.
Since then, we’ve been involved in outreach and recovery. The silver lining of this epic journey is community, something that will now figure even more prominently in The Missed Path Sanctuary’s work because we are all ‘Better Together’.
It’s in that spirit that we celebrate this launch and invite you to follow us, connect with us and become a part of the Missed Path Sanctuary community!

In the coming months, we’ll be hosting workshops and events at the sanctuary and in conjunction with our community partners.There will be opportunities to connect and be inspired by our small herd – Daisy, Melody, Sundance, and Annie.
