"Wards of the State: The Long Shadow of American Foster Care" examines the impact of foster care involvement and challenges readers to consider how systems shape futures. This panel brings together voices from advocacy, leadership, and legal representation to examine the book’s insights through the lens of real-world practice and what they mean for those working within child welfare today.

Together, we will explore how advocacy, legal decision-making, and system structures influence children not just in the moment — but across a lifetime.

UPCOMING CASA PROGRAM EVENTS

April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month and May’s Foster Care Month raise awareness of the importance of protecting children in our communities and supporting those already in care. CASA volunteers stand alongside children in foster care and advocate for their safety, stability, and well-being, ensuring their needs are being met. By raising awareness and taking action, we can help ensure every child has a safe home and a brighter future. Together, we can help create safe, supportive environments where every child has the chance to thrive. Become a CASA and be part of a community working to Change A Child's Story.
