October Newsletter

Dear  Outreach,

It's harvest season, and we are feeling the abundance of seeds sowed in seasons past. Our studios are full of students, the Company is on tour, and Livia and our arts-education teachers are collaborating with three new schools in Albany! We want to share this moment with you. Come fill your fall cup with dance, music, and community this season.

Travel to India this Winter

Even though early bird registration is over, there is still space for two more travelers to join us in India.

A promotional graphic for an India Cultural Exchange features a group of people in traditional attire in a circular frame in the foreground, with a scenic palace reflecting in water and mountains in the background.

Travel across India through it's dance, music, and living traditions. Begin in the “City of Lakes”, where days are filled with rhythm and movement. Train with local artists and master teachers. Then journey south to Auroville, a vibrant international community where creativity, collaboration, and daily life intertwine.

What we do

Our Dance Institute is the heart of our local, year-round programming. It offers classes, workshops, and performance opportunities for children, teens, and adults of all experience levels. Students train in a supportive, inclusive environment and participate in seasonal performances that emphasize creativity, collaboration, and joy. Dedicated students are invited to join our Youth Company and Junior Youth Company.

Our arts education program in schools have given thousands of children a glimpse into the performing arts and world cultures. Our teaching artists work with students from Pre-K through high school, using dance and music from cultures around the world to support learning, empathy, and connection.

The Company is our professional touring company with a 54+ year legacy of performance, cultural exchange, and peace advocacy. Founded in the early 1970s, the company has performed nationally and internationally, presenting dance and music traditions from around the world in theaters, festivals, schools, and community spaces. This professional work feeds directly into our educational mission and inspires the next generation of dancers and musicians.
