Summer Greetings Aging Together As Community Supporters
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer is certainly our theme song for June and July 2026 across the county and country. We hope that everyone has been able to enjoy and keep safe and cool during these extreme hot days.
Despite the heat, ATAC has been busy: attending Canada Day in Minden, the MP., MPP Seniors Seminar; working on Board governance materials; producing The Journey Together, on Canoe FM 11 am, the first and third Tues. and liaising with U Links and Trent University to have our student placement in the upcoming year. We are excited to begin to plan for our first AGM!
We are currently looking for a new Board member and committee members for our Sustainability Committee (governance/ fundraising) and Community Engagement Committee. We are always looking for volunteers to help at events. Give us a call 905 717 5334 and learn about ATAC and see if we fit your community, volunteer goals!
Aging Together As Community is rolling out our second event of five, of our New Horizons Grant project. This is an exciting collaboration with The Arts Council ~ Haliburton Highlands, Sticks and Stones Productions with support from SALC H. C.

- Attendees can choose, first come ~ first served, a 50-minute workshop, in the morning and in the afternoon. Each artist will offer an introduction and demonstration of their specific art and then you will be able to practice, with guidance, the technique using materials that will be provided, at no charge. We will close with a ‘Group Sharing’ of your experience of the day.
- We are very fortunate to have five talented artists presenting our workshops:
· The Art of Zentangle by Noelia Marziali
Zentangle is a relaxing, meditative art practice that uses a fine drawing pen to create repetitive patterns called tangles.
· There’s no ‘Pain’ in Pain-ting! by Harvey Walker
Participants will be working with acrylic paints and will be led step by step as you explore painting for the enjoyment of it.
· Artist Trading Cards by Chris Lynd (ACHH)
You will create a card by drawing, painting, collaging or writing something meaningful, then send it as a special surprise to someone.
· Theatre: What’s My Line? by Ella Leis
You will learn to listen to your own impulses, be present in the moment, take risks, and make offers – the building blocks to improvisation.
· ‘Get the Colour: Easy Peasy’ by Kathy Bailey
This workshop will provide technical understanding of how the four paint pigment components work together.
