May 2026 Newsletter

Dear Music Families and Staff,

May has arrived, bringing one of the most meaningful and celebratory times of the year for our music program. During this final stretch, students are preparing for spring concerts, end-of-year performances, and the 51st Annual Music Awards Dinner, during which we will honor our graduating seniors and recognize outstanding achievements across all ensembles.

This past week, Nutley Public Schools received recognition for the 17th consecutive year as one of the Best Communities for Music Education, a reflection of the strength and continued support of music throughout the district.

Music Boosters has had the pleasure of attending all of the elementary spring concerts, witnessing the growth, enthusiasm, and talent of our youngest musicians. These performances are a great reminder of the strong foundation being built across our music programs. We have also been out in the community attending events such as the Farmers Market, helping to connect with residents and promote our music programs.

Looking ahead, we invite everyone to attend the Benefit Concert on May 8 featuring The Duprees, presented by the Nutley Educational Foundation. Opening performances will be provided by the NHS Jazz Ensemble and The Tee-Tones. NMBA will also have a booth offering a 50/50 raffle and concessions to support our music programs.

Please remember that the $1,000 Amazon Gift Card Raffle will be drawn on June 3. Be sure to purchase your entries for a chance to win while supporting the ongoing needs of our music programs.

For students interested in joining the NHS Marching Band, the registration deadline is May 8, with the first payment due on May 15. Additional details are available on the Parent Info Hub page of our website.

Our final Nutley Music Boosters meeting for the year will be held on Monday, May 11. During this meeting, we will also conduct elections for the 2026-27 officers as we begin planning for the upcoming year. Additionally, we are excited to continue promoting our Nutley Community Concert Band initiative; further details are provided below.

Stay tuned for information regarding the Nutley Summer Music Program, which offers students an excellent opportunity to continue developing their skills and stay engaged with music during the summer.

We look forward to celebrating the successful year we have had and ending it on a high note. Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and our music programs.

SHARE YOUR INPUT: Nutley Community Concert Band

The Nutley Music Boosters Association is seeking community input as we explore the creation of a Nutley Community Concert Band. Open to alumni, parents, educators, and musicians of all experience levels, this ensemble would provide a welcoming space to rehearse and perform.

Feedback will help guide interest, instrumentation, and scheduling as we consider next steps.
