Week of August 31st, 2026

Here's a look at what we've been up to lately and what's coming next.

Thanks for being part of our school community.

Thank you to all our Academy families and friends who participated in our Spirit Day with Hermitage Chickfila! We had a great turnout and raised $500 for our annual fund. We appreciate your support!

Upcoming Dates & Reminders

Attendance Policy Update

As a reminder, we have updated our attendance policy this school year to allow for excused absences for illness without requiring a doctor's note.

When parents submit their child's absence via Orah, their illness will reflect an excused absence. Please use the link below to reference our full attendance policy.

Academy for God School App

Did you know we have a school app that can be downloaded from your device's app store? Keep your student's class schedule, attendance records, school handbook and calendar all in one place by having the app on your mobile device.

Please reach out to admin@academyforgod.org if you have any trouble connecting.

A grid of icons for "The Academy for God" app is displayed on a white background, with the app's logo at the top.

Main Building Parking Lot Safety

Hope you've all had a wonderful week! We're reaching out to address a couple of safety updates regarding the Main (Black Brick) Building parking lot.

  • Drop-Off Location: The West Sidewalk entrance by the Main Building is a NO DROP OFF ZONE. The correct drop-off location for Jr. High and High School students is further down at the Main Building Lobby Entrance.
  • Pedestrian Crossing: The Main Building exit sees student foot traffic during arrival and dismissal times. To improve safety, we'll be designating a member of the Traffic & Security Team to help with crossings when possible, and we're adding cautionary signage in the area.

(Please see the attached visuals for exact locations.)

Last but certainly not least, thank you for your continued teamwork in keeping our community safe. Here's how to reach out:

  • Safety/security concerns or questions: security@academyforgod.org
  • Off-campus/local-area concerns: Non-Emergency Police at (615) 862-8600, in addition to the security email
  • Emergencies involving threat of injury or worse: 911
  • Anonymous or named reporting: the SafeTN app

Thank you for taking the time to read these updates - we look forward to seeing you all back next week!
