December 2025 Newsletter

A Message from our Founder ~ Our Mission in Action

Dear Friends and Supporters,
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Josie’s Grace Newsletter. It is with deep gratitude and excitement that I share this first update with you. What began as a vision to provide compassionate, accessible support for mothers and birthing people has quickly grown into a vibrant community committed to healing, connection, and collective care.   At Josie’s Grace, we believe that no one should navigate the challenges of postpartum or parenthood alone. Maternal mental health is not just a personal struggle—it is a public health priority that deserves attention, resources, and community action. This newsletter marks an important milestone in our journey to raise awareness, expand our programs, and strengthen the peer-support networks that so many families need.   Over the past years, we have laid the foundation for services, partnerships, and advocacy efforts that will shape our work in the months and years ahead. Whether you are a donor, a volunteer, a collaborating professional, or a parent seeking connection—you are a vital part of this mission.   Thank you for believing in this work and in the families we serve. I look forward to sharing our progress, celebrating our community, and continuing to build a future where every parent has the care and support they deserve.

With gratitude,

Building A Board

Josie's Grace nonprofit has established a Board of Directors consisting of 9 members and an Advisory Board.  Our Board is composed of program alumni, advanced practice nursing providers, individuals with lived experience of maternal mental health conditions, dedicated volunteers, and community professionals who share a commitment to our mission. Expanded biographies will be launching soon on our website to highlight each member’s background and connection to our work.

As a new nonprofit, we have spent the last year working with DANA (the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement ).  Thanks to our favorite consultant, Tony Ferlanda, we have the planning to ensure our heart, credibility, and momentum reach their fullest potential in Delaware.

Do you have talents in marketing & communications, development, or grant-writing?  We would love to speak with you further about joining our board as a committee or advisory board member.

In the Community

Volunteer Corner

We are pleased to introduce you to one of our volunteer Cuddlers, Pat Padeletti.  Pat was one of our first onboarded cuddlers and has been volunteering at Josie's Grace for 3 years. Pat, originally from Scranton, PA, came to Delaware from Rochester, NY (yes, the accent is still there!), where she was a Special Education teacher for 30 years.  She and her husband retired to Delaware to be closer to their daughter and 9-year-old granddaughter. They also have a son and a 16-year-old grandson in Rochester.  In addition to cuddling, Pat also regularly takes care of laundering blankets and burp cloths, and often donates diapers and wipes when we are running low. Pat has this to say about her role at Josie's Grace, "I feel honored and blessed to be able to give a new mom and her baby the gift of time, serenity, and a new supportive community.  Thank you for sharing your babies with me!"
