Statement From Our Director

As summer gets into full swing, I’m grateful for the incredible energy our community continues to bring to Keystone—whether it’s enjoying time on the lake (and practicing safe boating!) or showing up in such strong numbers for the 7th Annual Detective Mike Doty Memorial Run, where over 300 participants helped make it a truly special day. You’ll see our team out and about at events like the Pride Festival, the Juneteenth community celebration, and the All On Board Butterfly Release—we love connecting with you where you are. Behind the scenes, we’re also gearing up for next month’s Back-to-School Bashes to support youth and families as they prepare for a successful year ahead. Thank you for being part of this journey with us—here’s to a safe, joyful, and impactful summer together!

Sincerely,

Kerri McGuire, PhD, LPC, NCC

Executive Director

Dear Supporters,

With summer in full swing and the days stretching long and bright, our work continues to grow with the season. This time of warmth and momentum reminds us just how much your support fuels our mission. Thank you for standing with us as we uplift individuals facing Substance Use Disorder and walk beside those on their journey to recovery.

Here’s what’s shining at Keystone this summer!

Mike Doty Run Recap

The 7th Annual Detective Mike Doty Memorial Run was a tremendous success, bringing our community together for a meaningful day of remembrance, connection, and purpose.

This year, we welcomed 310 registered participants and raised an incredible $31,761 in support of prevention, recovery, and community wellbeing.

This event continues to grow year after year and stands as a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose. From runners and volunteers to sponsors and supporters, every person played a role in making the day truly special.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped honor Detective Mike Doty’s legacy and look forward to continuing this impactful tradition in the years ahead.

Halfway To The Holidays... And We Have News

Keystone is excited to share a little holiday cheer ahead of schedule... we will be participating in ChristmasVille this year! Even with summer in full bloom, we're already looking forward to joining the festivities that bring so much joy to our community. From connecting with families to celebrating the spirit of togetherness, we can't wait to be a part of this magical holiday tradition this year!

Keep Your Summer Safe

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the water, but it’s also a time to stay mindful. Boating under the influence is just as dangerous as driving under the influence — alcohol and drugs slow reaction time, affect balance, and increase the risk of accidents and drowning. If you’re heading out on the water, designate a sober operator, stay alert, and keep safety gear within reach. A clear mind helps ensure everyone gets home safely and keeps your summer memories positive.

Look For Us At Back to School Events!

Keystone's Prevention staff will be attending back-to-school bashes for many of the school districts in York County. We will be handing out information and giveaways for students and adults to help prevent youth substance use and to educate the community on the risks of substance use. We will have Deterra Drug Deactivation pouches to pass out, as well as other resources for parents.

Come see us at:

  • Back 2 School Block Party: Saturday, July 25, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM, Saluda Trail Middle School (2300 Saluda Rd, Rock Hill, SC)
  • Clover Back To School Bash: Friday, July 31st, 5:30 PM-7:00 PM, Clover High School (1625 Highway 55 E, Clover, SC)

Stay Tuned...

Something new is taking shape... and you will see it soon. Be on the lookout!

Thank you for being a vital part of our community. Because of your support, individuals facing struggles with substance use are being connected to the resources they need to begin their recovery journey.

Your generosity helps fund life-saving treatment, counseling, peer support, and much more - giving people not just a second chance, but a future full of possibility.

With heartfelt thanks,
