As of today, there are no team members officially registered to go with trip leader, Sharla Henderson, on the October Peru mission trip. Won't you prayerfully consider going and serving in this way? The need is apparent . . . people are needed to physically go and share the good news of Jesus Christ with the Urarina people, as well as layer upon past trips and teachings with intentional discipleship. My prayer is that you will at least consider the possibility that God is calling you to "lean in" to this ministry opportunity.
Training meetings will begin in August, so ideally team members need to commit to going on the mission trip by the end of this month. Should you already know you want to go, you can register (or give) through the link below. A link to email trip leader, Sharla Henderson, is also below should you want to reach out to her to set up a time for her to go over more details about the trip with you so you can better pray over and discern your decision to go!
If you haven't already seen it, check out the video from our March Peru trip! Each Spring we serve a week in the city of Iquitos (week 1) and a week out in the jungle among the indigenous Urarina tribe (week 2). The October 22-31st trip will be back out in the jungle with the Urarina people. I pray you are led to join us!
JOIN US ON MISSION FOR JESUS!SOUTH ASIA MISSIONS FALL SOUTH ASIA JUNGLE MISSION TRIP: October 6-17, 2026 We are planning a trip to go visit one of our Ministry Partners and his ministry field beginning the second week of October. We will work with the leaders from a number of churches, train teachers at several schools on things like teaching strategies and classroom management, do door to door prayer and evangelism in local villages, and work with students at a school to do Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) projects! While we will admit that the most important work we will do is the nightly prayer and evangelism, we engage in these other efforts so we can lift up the stature of the school in the eyes of the community. This is all about gaining their favor and expanding that, and God will use even those efforts for His glory! Blanca, one of our Peruvian Ministry Partners is hosting a jungle Youth Summer Camp from September 4-6 in Prado Village out on the Maranon River. Please pray for the youth who will attend, for the speakers that will share, for the volunteers who will serve, and for financial needs to be met in order to host this event. We are excited to hear about how God moves and lives are changed! Check out her promotional video from Facebook!
Please pray for Cesar, a 3 year old Uranina boy in Santa Carmela, with a cleft palete. LIM is currently working with a coordinator at a hospital in Iquitos to include him in a current campaign that could perform and pay for this life changing surgery in November. As you would imagine, there are many hoops to jump through and requirements that have to be met, so please pray that God goes before this precious little boy (and us) so that he can have the surgery as planned and prayed for! The significance of this little boy being out in an Urarina village is HUGE! Culturally children born with disabilities are left to die after birth, so when we saw him out there in March, 1) we rejoiced that they are understanding the sanctity of life and that we are all made in the image of our Creator and 2) immediately knew we wanted to move forward with trying to get him medical care that is otherwise unavailable.
The Ronshausen family is back in Iquitos after their 5 month visit to to the states to wrap up Tedy's journey of becoming a US citizen, as well as for Andrew to complete his practicum at the Salvation Army and graduate with is degree in drug and alcohol counseling, which he will most definitely put to use in Iquitos. We are so grateful for this precious family as they love and serve those around them in the name of Jesus. Please pray for them as they assimilate back into ministry life abroad.
Lean In Ministries is thankful to have celebrated 3 years of "LEANING IN!" Ministries that began in 2007 in South Asia and 2009 in Peru have not only been able to continue but have flourished under this God-led ministry! Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to be a part of your Great Commission in this way!
