Feast of Lanterns

Calling all volunteers!

Every year, the Springdale Neighborhood Association hosts a booth at The Feast of Lanterns, featuring homegrown plants nurtured by our very own neighbors.

It’s a wonderful way to share the beauty of our gardens and homes, and support our community.

A "Plant Share Sale" All funds raised are used to support the Springdale Neighborhood Association and to fund the various events throughout the year (parties!).

Can't volunteer? No worries, stop by the booth and check out the plants! Everyone can use more plants :-)

IT'S NOT TOO LATE!

DROP OFF ANY PLANTS OR POTS TO RACHEL'S HOUSE @ 2601 BROOKSIDE PKWY S DR. TODAY

Thank you to all those who have already dropped items off!

We still need volunteers to run the booth from 7:00 - 8:45. Please consider donating your time and helping us out, it is much appreciated.

Hopefully see you all tomorrow!

Springdale Soil & Spades

Hi y'all! It's Rachel, current SNA President, roommate of The Temple Oak, and Purdue Extension Master Gardener Intern.

Keeping it short and sweet today as I dive into focusing on cleaning up and potting plants for tomorrow!

Common Invasive Species in Indiana

Here's a short list of highly invasive species that are common around here in Indianapolis. Next time you walk around the neighborhood or in the park, keep an eye out for these invasive species and yank them out while they're young!

Look for KIB and FOBAS events that clean-up the parks: but change starts with you, if you have any of these in your yard, consider starting to remove them.

Asian Bush Honeysuckle

Green and reddish-brown leaves fill the foreground, with a blurred background of more leaves and branches.

Japanese Knotweed

Lush green foliage and creamy white flower plumes fill the foreground, with a blurred background of more greenery and a hint of sky.
A close-up view of green leaves with red stems fills the foreground, while a blurred green background suggests more foliage.

Burning Bush

No sprouts this month. Got a sprout to shout? Reply to this email, we'd love to tell the world (or at least Springdale)!
