October 2026 NewsletterDear Music Families and Staff, Happy Fall! The first several weeks of the school year have been filled with wonderful performances, student accomplishments, and opportunities to come together as a music community. It's been great seeing our students back in action, and we're excited to share some of the highlights from September and early October! It was also wonderful meeting so many parents and families during Open House! We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with both new and returning families, answer questions, and share how Music Boosters support our students and music programs. A big thank you to everyone who supported our recent Clothing Drive, Raise a Pint for Nutley Music fundraiser, and Fall Fest activities! Whether you volunteered your time, made a donation, or came out to support us, we truly appreciate your continued generosity and involvement. After all the recent rainy weather, it looks like we're finally in for some sunshine this Sunday! Be sure to stop by our table at the Rotary Car Show to say hello, support our music programs, and enjoy a great day with the community! Looking ahead, our Thanksgiving Pie Student Fundraiser kicks off today! This is a great opportunity for students to earn Student Fundraising Credits while helping family and friends prepare for Thanksgiving. Students can also earn credits by participating in our upcoming Dunkin Can Shake on October 17. Be sure to check out the information below for details on how to sign up for these opportunities, along with our year-round fundraising initiatives that help students reduce their out-of-pocket music-related expenses! We also hope you'll join us for our Jersey Mike's Dine-to-Donate on October 20 and our annual Holiday Vendor Market on November 8. Both are great ways to support Nutley Music while connecting with our community! We also encourage our Nutley Music community to support NHS alumna Haley Papeo, who is once again organizing Music Heals, a benefit concert on October 18 raising awareness of veteran mental health and military sexual trauma. We wish Haley the best of luck with this year's event and continued success in making a difference through music! If you haven't already, we encourage you to become a paid member for the 2026–2027 school year. And don't forget to join us on the BAND App and visit the Parent Info Hub to stay connected and receive the latest updates, announcements, events, and volunteer opportunities! There's plenty more happening in the weeks ahead, so be sure to read on for student and ensemble highlights, fundraising updates, and important upcoming dates. As always, thank you for your continued support! Sal Scarpelli 2026-27 Membership InformationMembership is $25 per family and supports Nutley’s music students and programs. Membership qualifies students for 100% Student Fundraising Credit, supplemental activities, and senior scholarship eligibility. It also allows parents and guardians to be considered for chaperone opportunities. If you have a student in Marching Band, you DO NOT need to pay your membership, as this was covered in the overall marching band fees. Want to Get Involved? There are plenty of ways to volunteer with the Nutley Music Boosters throughout the year! Help staff our tables at special events, lend a hand at major events like our Tricky Tray or Holiday Vendor Fair, or join one of our committees and help behind the scenes. Whether you can give an hour or take on a larger role, every bit of help makes a difference. Check out our upcoming volunteer opportunities and get involved! Celebrating Student and |
