BREAKING NEWS! Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, We are overjoyed to share some wonderful news for our Holy Virgin Cathedral family. With the blessing of His Eminence, Archbishop Kyrill, the parish has officially bought the building located at 6221 Geary Boulevard. This is a rare and historic opportunity right here in the Richmond District, directly across the street from the Cathedral. Buying this building ensures our community has the extra space we need to grow and thrive for generations to come. The new 6221 building takes the place of the old parking lot building project, turning it into a strong, income-producing cornerstone that supports our work and honors the community. To take good care of this new property and manage it, we have set up the Holy Virgin Cathedral Endowment Fund 2, LLC (HVCEF2) Committee. This group will focus entirely on running the building safely and making sure it stays financially sound. With the blessing of His Eminence, the Committee will be led by the following parish members:
Important Dates and Parking Update We know that finding a parking spot in the neighborhood is always on everyone’s mind. We are very happy to share our immediate plans for the building's 17 indoor parking spaces. A Quick Note on Parking: While we are incredibly grateful for these 17 spaces, we want to be realistic. On a busy Sunday with 200 people attending church, 17 spots will help, but they won't solve all our parking struggles. Please keep patience in your hearts as we work together to make the best use of this new space. Saturday, June 20 – Building Blessing and Open House We warmly invite everyone to join us for a building blessing and open house. Come take a look inside, see the space, and celebrate this milestone together. Sunday, June 28 – First Trial Run for Parking The parking lot will open for a trial run so we can start parking parish cars and see how the flow works. The Following Week – Full Operations Regular parking hours will officially begin in time for the divine services for the Feast of St. John. The complete parking schedule, rules, and hours will be posted on the Cathedral website in the coming weeks. As we begin this exciting new chapter, we ask for your continued prayers for our parish leadership. May our Lord continue to bless, strengthen, and unite the Holy Virgin Cathedral family as we build a beautiful future together.
