Virtual Mentor the Mentor Roundtable

Tuesday, October 20 | 7:00 PM-8PM

Join other Bigs for an honest panel conversation about something nearly every mentoring relationship encounters: Setting expectations and changing boundaries as your match grows.

We'll use real-life mentoring scenarios and hear from experienced Bigs about how they have handled situations such as:

  • When eating out or buying snacks becomes expected on every outing
  • Navigating gifts and spending
  • Responding to requests from parents/guardians

Pickleball Lesson & Game Play at The Pickle Lodge

October 24 | 1:00–2:30 PM

  • Join us for pickleball lessons followed by game play!
  • The Pickle Lodge – Factory 52 2730 Maverick Drive, Norwood
  • Space is limited to 10 matches.
  • Paddles will be provided, gym shoes required, signed waivers required to play

BBBSGC matches are also welcome to play pickleball at no cost at any Pickle Lodge location with an advance email reservation. Check out the Activity Ideas page on the Big Hub for reservation information!

WE NEED BIGS TO JOIN THE 2027-2028 VOLUNTEER ADVISORY COUNCIL

Our Volunteer Advisory Council gives Bigs a voice in agency planning and helps BBBSGC shape and improve the volunteer experience as we continue to develop opportunities for our Bigs.


The Council is limited to eight Bigs who have been matched for at least one year (by Jan of 2027). We aim to include Bigs of different ages and backgrounds who represent the various counties and communities across our service area. Members are selected to serve a one-year term, from January 2027 through January 2028. At the end of the term, members will rotate off the Council, creating opportunities for other Bigs and new perspectives to be represented.


What Would You Do?

· Participate in two planning and feedback meetings each year

· Provide feedback about the Big experience and what our Bigs need.

· Help plan Bigs Night Out social gatherings

· Serve as panelists and help plan Mentor the Mentor roundtable discussions

· Provide input on volunteer training and resources

· Represent BBBSGC at select agency and community events
