 July 23, 2026 Follow us online Summer Day Camp in Full Swing More than 30 kids are currently enrolled for a five-session summer day camp organized by PAMANA that started last Saturday, July 18. With two parallel sessions for younger and older kids, the day camp provides an environment for campers to meet new friends while learning more about Filipino culture. On their first day, the campers enjoyed learning the basics of tinikling, the national dance of the Philippines. They were guided by ate Trixie and kuya Ethan, who are both primary school teachers by profession.  Also present were the campers' parents and guardians who attended the orientation and engaged in warm conversations with each other and the day camp organizers. This event will also showcase presentations from our summer day campers. It also serves as our culmination of summer programming called "Pinoy Sama-Summer 2026." Relive Make Filipino Music Madison The cold (and rains) never bothered us anyway... PAMANA joined the world in commemorating the summer solstice on June 21 by holding the first-ever Make Filipino Music Madison, an official event listed for the city of Madison's celebration of Make Music Day. The program featured local Filipino musicians of all ages who performed songs from a variety of genres: from OPM classics and modern rock, to gospel and Americana. The event, which gathered hundreds of attendees at Garner Park, also marked the full debut of the PAMANA Choir, which was originally formed as a Christmas caroling group for PAMANA's annual holiday fundraiser in the early 2010s. (Days earlier, the PAMANA Choir was invited for a preview performance for the City of Madison Common Council, which technically was their official debut!) For Make Filipino Music Madison, the PAMANA Choir sang 12 songs for a packed audience that enjoyed the group's repertoire.  Other event performers were Ube Band-esal; the UPAA-W Choir; Pastor Rowell Puedivan and the Madison Community Seventh-day Adventist Church congregation; the Philippine Center Strummers; Ethan Gonzales and Lauren Gordon (who was a last-minute replacement for Shaddai Solidum); Madison music veteran Pam Barrett; and PAMANA favorite Bernard Quipot.
