Pride Weekend is this weekend! All the info about where to find us and how to support us is below. Reach out with any questions!

We are SO PROUD to be a space for youth to grow in faith and friendship...where it is also safe to be a member of and fully support the LGBTQIA+ community.

MARCH WITH US!
Saturday, July 18

This will be SD United's 5th year marching in the parade!

Locations and times are listed below, as well as how to order your updated SD United tee.

Families and friends are all welcome to march with us!  And Rainbow Spaces, the youth nonprofit we partner with for D&D, will be walking with us, too.

  • To walk to the parade staging area with us, meet at Trolley Barn Park in Normal Heights neighborhood by 9:30am to walk to the parade start.  We will leave promptly at 9:30am, so please be on time!  (1943 Adams Ave 92116)
  • To meet us at the parade staging area, plan to meet up with us at spot 11 by 10:15am. Spot 111 is off Park Blvd, at Centre St.
  • At the end of the parade, you have a few options:
    • Walk back to Trolley Bark Park, arriving roughly around 2pm...
    • Stay at the parade to keep cheering...
    • Attend or volunteer at the Festival (more info below)...
    • Enjoy BBQ lunch at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (more info below)

WEAR YOUR SUPPORT!

We'd love for you to show your SD United love at Pride by wearing our new design - available in tee or tank! $25/shirt. We will have shirts ready for you at Parade start!

A navy blue t-shirt with a colorful sunburst logo and text "YOUR STORY YOUR SPACE" is displayed against a white background.
A navy blue t-shirt with a colorful circular logo and the words "DO JUSTICE BE CURIOUS HAVE FUN" is displayed against a white background.

BIG CONGRATS to Alex Magiary (12th grade), the winner of our shirt design contest!

(If finances are tight, don't let that stop you - just fill out the form and we'll make it happen!)

WORK OUR FESTIVAL BOOTH!
Saturday, July 18 & Sunday, July 19

Want to share about SD United with Festival attendees? We're so excited to share a booth with one of our SD United congregations, MissionGathering, and need your help to staff our booth, answer questions, and pass out fun swag! More than 50,000 people attend the Festival, so this is an amazing chance for people to discover our open and affirming safe space!

Sign up for a 2.5 hour shift here

Shifts run both Saturday and Sunday from 12-2:30pm, 2:30-5pm, and 5-7:30pm. The Festival is a 2-day open-air exhibit space at the end of the parade route (at 6th Ave and Laurel).

Three young people stand behind a table with rainbow decorations and a banner that reads "YOUR STORY, YOUR SPACE" in front of a tent at an outdoor event.

If you'd like to attend the Festival without volunteering, those age 17 or younger get in free and adults can purchase tickets here.

OTHER PRIDE EVENTS

  • INTERFAITH SERVICE - Wednesday, July 15, 7pm: Light Up the Cathedral interfaith service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral (2728 6th Ave).
  • POST-PARADE FREE BBQ - Saturday, July 18, 12pm: St.Paul's Episcopal Cathedral is also hosting a *free* Pride BBQ following the Parade and they've invited us to join in! If you're walking in the parade, the church is literally at the end of the route. Let us know here if you plan to attend.

OVER THE YEARS...

Since 2022, we've participated in Pride...

and can't wait to experience this year's with YOU!

A diverse group of people, some holding a banner that reads "YOUR STORY, YOUR SPACE," pose for a photo in front of a colorful "LOVE" balloon arch and palm trees.
A group of people in a parade hold signs and a banner that reads "YOUR STORY, YOUR SPACE" with buildings and palm trees in the background.
A group of smiling people, some wearing sunglasses and hats, pose for a selfie in front of a building with trees and a white border.
Three young women with rainbow socks and signs march in a parade with a bus and buildings in the background.

Black, stylized letters spell out "LOVE" with a colorful, mosaic-like sun in place of the "O", set against a white background above the light blue text "SD United Youth Collective".

Love what we're doing with SD United? Want to keep making our inclusive program accessible for 6-12th graders across San Diego?

We invite you to consider supporting us financially with a one-time or recurring monthly gift. Thank you!
