Green Ambassador Certificate Workshop + Cleanup April 2026 OEOC and UT Dallas successfully concluded the final 2-day Green Ambassador Certificate workshop, bringing together participants and experts to explore real-world sustainability solutions. The program highlighted collaborative learning across DFW cities and marked the completion of the community education series that began in June 2025.
DFW Youth Climate Conference and Entrepreneurship Competition OEOC and UT Dallas hosted the DFW Youth Climate Conference on April 18, bringing students together for expert panels on climate change and a competition for climate action seed funding. The event encouraged youth to explore real-world solutions in mitigation, adaptation, careers, and research. Habitat Restoration at Monarch View Park OEOC partnered with Blackland Prairie Master Naturalists, Frisco High, and Centennial High on April 18 to restore habitat in Frisco by planting native perennials and grasses. The effort helped remove invasive species and support pollinators and urban wildlife. Celebrate Earth Day with a Tree Planting in Richardson OEOC partnered with the City of Richardson on April 22 to celebrate Earth Day by planting 50 trees at Crowley Park. Volunteers came together to dig, plant, and mulch, helping expand the local tree canopy and promote a greener community. Texas Trees Foundation, in partnership with OEOC and CBRE, led a tree planting at Dallas College–Richland Campus this April, bringing volunteers together to expand the campus tree canopy. The effort highlighted the many benefits of trees, from cooling and cleaner air to improved health and flood reduction. Kim Hernandex of OEOC joined SMU Earth Focus at their Earth Day Fair featuring Food, Fun activities, Trivia, Sustainability Panel in HT at 6 pm. OEOC joined this community impact event taking place on the campus to drive awareness of climate change. Every day should be Earth Day! One Earth One Chance hosted a fun, hands-on Earth Day event celebrating sustainability through zero-waste activities, eco-friendly shopping, native tree planting, and engaging workshops. Attendees enjoyed arts, gardening, yoga, Bolly Zumba, and more while getting inspired to make greener choices every day. Green Citizen Speaker Series: Sustainable Diets OEOC’s instructor Karen Chambers presented on Sustainable Diets at the East MK Learning Garden, highlighting the environmental benefits of plant-based and organic foods and their role in reducing emissions and supporting local farmers. The session, part of the Green Citizen Speaker Series, sparked meaningful conversations on climate change and sustainable food choices. OEOC at SAVE SOIL WALKATHON OEOC participated in the Isha Foundation Save Soil Walkathon in celebration of Earth Day, raising awareness about soil health and sustainability. The team also gave away 80 trees, encouraging community action to protect and restore our planet’s vital resources.

All proceeds will go to One Earth One Chance to support a cleaner Earth and greener environment. Join us to celebrate Mothers day with OEOC! This Mother’s Day, join SAAVETXEF and oneearthonechance for a community clean-up to protect parks, waterways, and wildlife. Volunteers will walk the park with grabbers and gloves to collect litter while learning about environmental responsibility and enjoying the beauty of nature.
