Hello WISH Community,
It’s been a busy and exciting summer for WISH, filled with community connection, growing momentum, and important progress toward bringing our vision to life.
As we head into a new season, that momentum continues. Site progress is moving forward, our community of supporters continues to grow, and we have more opportunities ahead to come together, connect, and build awareness around the need for inclusive housing in our community.
Our Community Is Making It Happen. This summer, over $100,000 has been raised! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, WISH has met and exceeded our $50,000 fundraising matching challenge — meaning more than $100,000 has now been raised toward future housing for adults with developmental disabilities in the Sea to Sky.
Over the past several weeks, we invited our community to help us unlock a generous $50,000 matching gift from a private donor. Every dollar donated was matched, doubling the impact of each contribution.
What started as an ambitious fundraising goal became a powerful demonstration of what happens when a community comes together around a shared vision. Every donation helped move us closer. Every person who shared our campaign helped spread the word. And every conversation about inclusive housing helped build momentum for the future we’re working toward.
This funding will help WISH continue working toward safe, supportive, and inclusive housing for adults with developmental disabilities — creating homes where people can build independence, participate in their communities, and truly belong.
We are deeply grateful to our generous matching donor, who made this challenge possible, and to everyone who donated, shared, encouraged, attended events, and supported WISH along the way.
Thank you for helping us make this vision a reality.
Site Preparation
What began as a vision is becoming a reality. Today marks an important milestone for WISH as we celebrate the groundbreaking of The Traverse, a place where adults with developmental disabilities can live independently while remaining connected to the community they call home.
This moment represents years of collaboration, advocacy, and the unwavering belief that everyone deserves a safe, supportive place to belong.
Thank you to our partners, supporters, families, and community for helping make this vision possible.

Are you passionate about inclusion, community, and creating meaningful housing opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities?
WISH is looking for dedicated board members and volunteers to help shape a more inclusive future in Whistler and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.
We're seeking individuals who bring lived experience, professional expertise, or a passion for making a difference. Experience in fundraising, finance, law, governance, housing, communications, government relations, business leadership, health care, or disability services is especially valuable, but most importantly, we're looking for people who share our vision.
At WISH, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, connection, and increasing independence. If you're ready to use your skills, experience, and network to create lasting community impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Community Engagement Events🚲 Slow Food Cycle Sunday WISH was thrilled to take part in Slow Food Cycle Sunday and connect with community members who stopped by our tent at HappiLife Farm.
So many of the people we spoke with had a family member or knew someone with a developmental disability. These conversations were a powerful reminder that disability touches every community and that creating a more inclusive Sea to Sky benefits all of us. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, share their experiences, or learn more about WISH. 🏠 Whistler Is Our Home What a wonderful evening of connection, conversation, and community.
Thank you to everyone who joined WISH for Whistler Is Our Home in June and helped make the evening so meaningful.
We’re grateful to the families, community members, supporters, and partners who came together to learn more about our vision for a more inclusive Sea to Sky where adults with developmental disabilities can build independence, belong, and truly feel at home. 🎸 Save the Date: HOUSE ARREST Get ready for a night of live music, good people and good times all in support of WISH!
