![]() September 7, Newsletter ![]() This week’s newsletter is more of a reminder than anything else, because we have a packed week ahead with several opportunities to connect, ask questions, and be part of the conversations happening around Lineweaver. From Site Council to PTO and Fall Festival planning, there is a lot going on, and we would love to have families join in wherever they can. Take a look below for the dates, times, and details so you do not miss anything. For more information and upcoming dates, check out our event calendar: Community Connections![]() We are still looking to grow Lineweaver’s community connections this year, and some of the best opportunities may come from people already connected to our school. If you work for a company, know a local business owner, are part of a professional organization, or have a connection to a nonprofit or community group, we would love an introduction. You do not need to ask them for money or sponsorship on our behalf. Simply connecting us with the right person can make a real difference. The PTO is helping fund supplemental opportunities throughout the year, including classroom resources, student programs, clubs, field trips, and other needs that go beyond the regular school budget. You can see some of the projects we are currently supporting on our grants page: https://lineweaverpto.org/lineweaver-grants/ Even a $100 donation from a local business can help put materials directly into a classroom, support a student activity, or help cover part of a program that benefits Lineweaver students. If someone comes to mind, please connect us. We are happy to take it from there. Upcoming EventsSite Council![]() September 8Lineweaver’s next Site Council meeting will be tomorrow at 3:15 PM. Families are welcome to attend either in person in Work Room 2 at the school or virtually via Zoom. Site Council gives parents, staff, and school leadership an opportunity to discuss school priorities, programs, student needs, campus initiatives, and how resources are being used to support students. It is also a great way for families to stay informed and hear directly from school leadership. PTO Meeting![]() September 9Join us for our next PTO meeting at 6:00 PM via Zoom. We will hear updates on what is happening around Lineweaver this month and vote on three PTO grant requests that would provide additional support and opportunities for our students and teachers. All families are welcome to attend and be part of the conversation. Planning Committee![]() September 10Join us at 7:00 PM via Zoom for our next Fall Festival Planning Meeting. We will continue working through activities, volunteers, community participation, and ideas for Lineweaver’s 70th birthday celebration on November 13. All families are welcome to attend and be part of the conversation. ![]() September 16-18Parent-Teacher Conferences are a great opportunity to connect with teachers, hear how the school year is going, and talk about student progress and goals. Teachers will reach out directly with information about scheduling and available times. These will also be early release days, so families should plan accordingly. Fundraiser![]() September 19-20Not another dine-out night! This year, we are trying something a little different. Join us at Walpole’s Bricks & Sips on September 19 and 20 for some creative fun while supporting Lineweaver PTO. Walpole’s is a hands-on brick-building café where kids and families can choose from themed LEGO-style building kits, settle in, and create together in a relaxed space. ![]() September 25Join us at Skate Country from 5:00-7:00 PM for a fun night out with Lineweaver families! Admission is $5, with skate rental available for an additional $5. Come skate, spend time with friends, and support Lineweaver while enjoying a fun family night together. Box TopsA quick Box Tops reminder, because it is definitely not the Box Tops program many of us remember from when we were kids. There is no cutting little cardboard squares off cereal boxes and saving them in a bag anymore. Once you set up the Box Tops app and select Lineweaver Elementary, you really just scan your receipts. I did not realize how easy it had become until I started using it myself. I scan pretty much every receipt, and the app finds eligible purchases automatically. Sometimes I even get credit for things I would not have thought of as “Box Tops” products. It only takes a few seconds, and those small amounts add up to real money for the school. ![]() Did you Know?TUSD has announced that it will begin considering school closures and consolidations, with several community meetings planned in September before those decisions move forward. We know news like this can bring a lot of questions and uncertainty for families. Our schools are more than buildings. They are places where children grow up, friendships are formed, teachers build lasting relationships, and entire communities come together. TUSD is encouraging families, staff, and community members to take part in these upcoming meetings, learn more about the process, and share their thoughts directly with the district.
We encourage anyone who is interested or concerned to stay informed and make their voice heard as this process moves forward. ![]() Follow us on social media for updates on your feeds and up to date information on events and opportunities! |
