Re-visiting September!

Alumni are on the move 📦

Congratulations to Our Newest Alumni!

We are thrilled to celebrate a wonderful milestone this month as we congratulate three of our residents including our first-ever female resident who successfully transitioned into their own housing and joined the Ryandale alumni during the month of September!

Watching community members take this step toward independent living is at the heart of everything we do. Please join us in wishing them warmth, happiness, and continued success as they settle into their new homes and bright futures!

Several people walk along a dirt path surrounded by lush green trees and foliage.
Tall, dry grasses and a small body of water occupy the foreground, while a dense forest of green pine trees fills the background.
A person in light-colored clothing pours tea from a black kettle into small bowls on the forest floor, surrounded by trees and foliage.
A fluffy, light-brown dog sits in the foreground against a blurred outdoor background of dirt and metal poles.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day for our recent trip to Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area. The weather was bright and warm, making it the perfect setting to step away from our screens and enjoy the outdoors together.

During our visit, we practiced Shinrin-yoku (森林浴), the Japanese art of forest bathing. Rather than rushing through a long hike, forest bathing is about slowing down, engaging your senses, and simply being present among the trees. Listening to the breeze, taking in the earthy scents, and absorbing the calm of the woods.

To wrap up a peaceful morning, we gathered just off the trail to share a fresh, natural tea together before heading home refreshed and grounded.

2 beautiful days at the Indigenous food sovereignty garden

We couldn’t stay away from one of our favorite spots this September, we actually made the trip twice!

On our first visit, we spent the day crafting handmade signs for the garden. The second time around, we got creative building birdhouses and enjoyed an amazing lunch prepared fresh from the land.

It was a wonderful month of creating, connecting, and enjoying the outdoors together!

Thank-You United Way!

First Aid Training!

This month, Ryandale staff and residents had the opportunity to train side-by-side in Intermediate First Aid, equipping a new group of people in our local community with essential, life-saving emergency skills.

A big thank you to Our Livable Solutions for providing the training, and to Push 4 Life First Aid and the Canadian Red Cross for delivering such valuable hands-on instruction!
