BIKE LANE BAN PASSED for Classen Boulevard

WHAT NOW?

The conversations we have had with our neighbors and local businesses over the last few weeks have made it clear to us that OKC does not support this ban. Make sure to let council know how you feel about this vote (see below).

We will be continuing those conversations in the coming weeks and months to evaluate the best path forward to achieve a safer Classen Boulevard and reverse the ban.

We deeply thank everyone who took action these past few weeks, including the 43 businesses who cosigned out letter against it that was presented to council. If you own a business and would like to show your continued support, send us an email at info@thewheelsproject.org.

Please continue watching this space for updates on these lanes and other bike infrastructure around the city.

Contact Council!

Just because the vote is over doesn't mean we can't still let our elected officials know how we feel about their vote. Make your voice heard.

Up Next

We've been doing bike lane clean-ups every second Saturday. The next one is planned for Saturday, January 10th, at 12pm (we're pushing it back a couple hours to let it warm up a bit). The January clean-up location will be, of course, existing CLASSEN BOULEVARD BIKE LANES between NW13th and NW16th. Meet at OnCue.

Watch social media for additional details or updates.

Note: Make sure you have a waiver on file before you join in on the clean-ups!

Keeping Up

These situations move fast, so it's important to keep up. The absolute fastest way to get information is via our Discord. The next best is social media, followed by this newsletter.
